Today’s Update: Smoother Gameplay, Sharper Mechanics, and Fewer Headaches

By admin · 9/9/2026

We’ve got a solid batch of fixes and improvements rolling out today to make your time in Shroud of the Avatar more seamless and enjoyable. Here’s what’s new:

Auctioning Town Lots: When a town lot becomes available in an NPC town, it now goes up for auction in gold. The player who freed the lot gets a cut of the sale—great for rewarding community contribution.

Stable Loading & Connection Handling: The dreaded loading screen freeze is gone. If something goes wrong during a town load, you’ll now return safely to the overworld with a helpful message. We’ve also cleaned up memory leaks and front-end hiccups that could occur after a dropped connection.

Better Visuals and Controls: The title screen now caps at 60 FPS on all systems, fixing display issues and reducing memory usage. Dragging decorations now follows your cursor accurately—no more misplaced bookshelves or unresponsive props.

Accurate Area Attacks: Creature attacks like Ice Field and Ring of Fire now show their red impact zones where they actually land—no more confusion about where the blast hits.

Vendor and Gathering Fixes: Old vendor listings that were silently failing? Fixed. You can now reclaim and repurchase them. Gathering nodes also now respect their experience caps, preventing infinite rewards from missed swings.

Mounts & Movement: Riders can now move freely again—earlier, a misplaced movement lock was freezing all mounts in place.

Siege & Boss Stability: The siege power meter is now visible, properly positioned below the compass. And yes, two copies of Temna the siege boss can no longer spawn at once—this bug was rooted in the boss losing track of his standing spot.

Character & Stats: Overloaded characters no longer drop to 1 Dexterity. The penalty now caps at 30% of your base, with the character sheet clearly showing how much weight is affecting your stats.

Navigation & Tutorial: Devotionals now appear on the town map with pins named after their virtues—click one to send your wisp. The tutorial dummy is finally where it’s supposed to be, so your first skills land where they should.

All these changes are live now—step into the world and feel the difference.
