New Fixes & Features for Your Shroud Experience

By admin · 10/14/2026

We’ve made a number of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes to make your journey through Shroud of the Avatar smoother and more immersive.

NPC interactions now feel more natural—talking indoors no longer pushes the camera into walls or blurs the character. The automaton at Solace Bridge Gate now teaches a blade skill and guides players who are holding items, helping new adventurers get off to a better start.

Combat is now more responsive and satisfying. Melee hits land exactly when the blade connects—no more trailing blood or sound effects. Spell criticals now stand out in combat text with a unique color and the word "Spell Critical" clearly displayed, making your powerful hits impossible to miss.

New players in Soltown now see all quest steps in their tracker, and Nyssa’s Markus task finally clears as intended. The crafting tutorial now only accepts a Leather Helm you actually crafted, and each step’s recipe appears at the top of the station list—no more confusion.

The Isle of Storms skill lesson now ends with a real fight against an armored watcher that actually requires you to use your skills, ensuring every new character learns through action. Overworld encounters are now more forgiving for low-level players, giving them a better chance to escape bandit pulls.

We’ve also improved audio and environment details: every town now has ambient sounds—birdsong, insects, wind, or river flow—adding life to your surroundings. Radio on your lot now works without competing with area music, and the Aether Vibration Device can silence music on your lot. A new Background Music slider lets you adjust area music volume independently.

Other updates include: vendor listings can now hide individual sellers, spawn odds are now accurate (rare spawns are truly rare), the Oracle now gives correct answers for plural item requests, and you can now right-click a recipe to choose materials from your backpack or lot storage.

Finally, performance is better—interface stutter is gone, and the overloaded slowdown now tracks your pack weight in real time. The AI helpers now run on our own Gemma 4 server for faster, more reliable responses.
