New Updates for Shroud of the Avatar – October 1st, 2026

By admin · 10/3/2026

We’ve got a fresh batch of improvements and fixes rolling out today, making your time in the world smoother, more responsive, and just a little more fun.

First off, the Steam login experience just got better: you can now choose to log in via Steam or password, and the game remembers your preference. No more forced Steam prompts. Also, governors can once again fly around their towns—/fly is back in the client and ready to use.

The Oracle has been busy answering player questions, unlocking new knowledge about threat mechanics, the Crystal Sword, the Crown Exchange, and more. Meanwhile, elephants have arrived—yes, a tier 10 Elephant joins the bestiary, built from an existing rig, with a GM-only companion pet for testing.

Chaos Bolt now clearly shows its damage and the odds of each of its five outcomes in the tooltip. Plus, shroudoftheavatar.com now displays live Chaos shard status and offers downloads for all platforms—Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The launcher has been updated to v57, fixing five common patching issues, including slow downloads and folder conflicts. Old launchers now redirect to the new one automatically. Patch notes now appear instantly when you open them, even before a new build’s notes are ready.

In gameplay, Bards can now stop performing without their lute constantly snapping back into their hands. Sundered Blade song drops are now guaranteed on your first copy, so no more grinding for missing cylinders. The “Use lot storage” feature now works at your crafting stations in Single Player Offline mode.

For players in shared zones like Brekken Bay, each town now loads a unique walking map using its own landmarks—NPCs and pets will now navigate around the statue and galleons. The World Map now shows your current town and can follow you in real time.

Other quality-of-life fixes include: fixed bank performance issues, zone changes surviving brief disconnections, better French and accented text support on Linux, customizable fonts, improved nameplate clarity at distance, movable target frames, and customizable keybindings (including Shift and sprint on any key). Bag windows now reopen where you left them.

Undead summons now keep their health in town between fights, and Revenant Stance casters can finally see their skeletons on death—no more ghostly wisps.

All these updates are live now. Welcome to a smoother, smarter Shroud.
