New Quality-of-Life Updates & Fixes Live Today

By admin · 9/30/2026

We’ve rolled out a batch of thoughtful updates and fixes to enhance your daily gameplay experience in Shroud of the Avatar. Today’s patch focuses on clarity, comfort, and community—making your time in the world smoother and more responsive.

Health bars are now more customizable: you can adjust the size of both your health bar and your target’s independently using the new Health Bar Size slider, with support for up to double the default size. This helps you keep track of your well-being and your enemies’ status at a glance, especially in intense combat.

NPC animations are back in full form—76 gesture voice recordings have been restored, so NPCs now whisper with natural motion, and their expressions match their words. Whether you’re receiving lore or a simple greeting, the world feels more alive.

Enemy health bars now accurately reflect real-time damage, tracking your target’s current health as it changes. Plus, teleport-to-zone maps now orient correctly—entrance pins are positioned on the side matching their labeled direction in every zone, so you’ll never get disoriented when arriving.

Achievements are now more accessible: the banners you earn are now clickable, instantly opening the Achievements window to the specific one you just unlocked. No more hunting through menus.

Community add-ons are getting faster deployment: safe, trusted add-ons now go live immediately without waiting for staff review, letting creators share their tools with the world faster.

We’ve also improved communication: the Mail system now includes a Reply button, so you can respond to a player’s letter with one click—no need to retype their name. Plus, character creation now blocks crude names, including variations with numbers or split spelling, to help keep the world welcoming.

Finally, the Battle of Solace Bridge tutorial has been refreshed to re-teach controls, including the jump and fallen log mechanics, so new players can get up to speed again. The Add-on API has also been updated to version 25, with fixes for cooldowns, SetUV animations, party buffs, events, and a new Lua time display in the /fps window.

All these changes are live now—go check them out and let us know what you think!
