New Music, Better Houses, and Smarter Systems – What’s New This Week
This week’s update brings a wave of quality-of-life improvements and fresh content that’s already making the world of Shroud of the Avatar feel more alive. House doors are now working again in Ardoris, and players can once again enjoy the full experience of their homes. With the return of player-owned town music, pianos, harps, and even pipe organs now grace the streets and squares—perfect for setting the mood in your community.
You can now quickly top up chest stacks with a right-click “Quick Deposit,” and stored homes in the Property Manager can be moved up to larger lots—complete with all their decorations. Bards performing live now show up on the town map, and towns with ongoing performances appear on the overworld map, making it easy to find the next great show.
We’ve also addressed some long-standing bugs: poisons and bleeds from looted creatures now affect you fully, and the dreaded “stuck in scenery” issue is fixed—logging in no longer traps you in walls. A new “Stuck?” button in Options helps you get unstuck faster.
The world’s visual details are getting a polish too: 17 older maps now properly show rivers, lakes, and swamps, and the South Broken Road now features flowing water. The Iron Chandelier now hangs proudly in the Red Barn, and block towers now rebuild properly with sunk foundations.
On the gameplay side, Troll combat is more dynamic—roaring at half health and using powerful Turning Slam attacks. And if you’ve been waiting for a new story, two new quests take you to the Ruined Keep: The Overdue Watch and Arms Without a Name, both adding depth to the world’s lore.
New features include private vendor listing dates, unsendable messages, and the ability to switch lights off in Light Settings. The Skills window now tracks mastery progress, and the Music slider now controls all music sources—including jukeboxes and radios.
Finally, the Supernatural Umbrella is built (though not yet available), and Recruit a Friend is live on Chaos, rewarding both recruiters and new players with gold, titles, and a loyal Rottweiler companion.
The world is richer, smoother, and more connected than ever. Enjoy!
