New Visuals, Smarter Buffs, and a Few More Ways to Remember Your Friends
Today’s update brings a mix of quality-of-life improvements and subtle but meaningful changes that enhance both gameplay and the world’s emotional depth. Buffs and debuffs now split into two customizable bars—place them anywhere on screen, and choose to display icons up to twice their normal size for better visibility. The Oracle can now give you a spoken warning before your buffs expire, with a customizable lead time—perfect for staying on top of your buffs during intense fights.
Combat is feeling more responsive, too: Ancient Undead can now be stunned, and crowd control resistance now uses the higher of two values, meaning Body Slam successfully hits Guard Drones in Despair. For explorers, every fogged map now includes a chart that reveals the full map at once, and you can craft a Surveyor’s Chart or use the Scroll of the Wayfinder’s Eye to double your fog-clearing range for 15 minutes—ideal for venturing into the unknown.
A new feature for players who’ve lost friends: memorial lots now remain standing, their signs reading “In memory of” the departed, offering a quiet tribute in the world. Every character now shows their origin—Old World for those who arrived before the October 1 shift, or Child of Chaos for those born after—adding a new layer of identity.
Gold-crowned players can now buy 100-Crown bundles from Crown Exchange clerks in Brittany, Ardoris, and Aerie banks, with gold destroyed upon purchase. For builders, Decorating Guides are now available—press Ctrl+G to reveal lot center lines, a visible grid, and live distances to lot edges.
Despair has been revisited: ghosts now have a way out, late-room elves get tier 15 loot, and Ancient Undead drop signature Acara plate. The final chest has been upgraded too. And behind the scenes, the log search now runs on its own server with two weeks of history, while combat balance summaries are working again after a month of silence.
Finally, busy towns at night are running smoother—especially in Etceter square during heavy rain, where frame times dropped across the board thanks to profiling fixes in creature AI, compass logic, post effects, and combat text.
