New Life for Fleeing Creatures, Fresh Combat Tools, and Fixes for Your Adventure
Today brought a wave of meaningful improvements to Shroud of the Avatar, making the world feel more alive and responsive. Creatures that flee in fear now actually run—covering real distance, calling allies to their aid, healing up, and returning to their routines. No more frozen, helpless NPCs; they’re reacting like living beings.
We’ve also given Conversationalists a long-overdue upgrade: they can now carry player-written dialogue in a text box format, making interactions feel more natural and immersive. And for those managing community content, a new moderation command finally allows the server’s long-standing ban flag to be used effectively.
The Sun school is no longer hiding its true power. Its debuffs are now clearly named, Solar Flare delivers a stronger punch in daylight, and the cone attack now properly targets enemies in melee range. The first four cards from the Sun proposal are now live, bringing more clarity and power to the school.
Alchemy players now have four new thrown bombs to master—fire, choking gas (penetrates armor), binding tar, and caustic acid. These high-level (Alchemy 80) projectiles aim at the ground like Fireball and are tuned for level 100 content.
Combat now has more depth with the new Answering Blow ability, a counterattack that activates only in the seconds after a successful block—perfect for players who thrive on precision defense.
The five bosses in The Breach now change their tactics when hurt, marking the first major use of the enrage system since it launched. They’re more dynamic, more dangerous, and more satisfying to defeat.
We fixed a critical bug that had been silently killing live sessions: the Exit to Menu button was unintentionally triggering a 60-second kill timer. Thanks to testers who reported the issue, it’s now gone.
Vigor now regenerates while you’re logged out—enough to refill a full bar in just one hour. Perfect for players who log out between adventures.
The Isle of Storms’ starting experience is back in the build, but the intro is still incomplete. New characters will begin at Solace Bridge for now, until the full journey is ready.
Finally, all 13 pet and tactics skills now have unique, fully animated artwork in both visual sets, and their commands now display with the correct frame colors. Plus, Chaos logins are now open to all players—no more tester-only access.
A small but important fix: the combat deck editor, broken by a recent UI cleanup, now works again—thanks to feedback from necronut.
